Founder, Michael Prentice was born and raised in the heart of the North Devon Countryside 'in the middle of nowhere' near Exmoor. "My love of nature, wildlife and the countryside environment grew with me growing up." "My love of adventure, nature, exploration and hill walking led me to take part in different challenges like the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme and the Ten Tors treks across Dartmoor as a young man.

Abdallah has been to the summit of Kilimanjaro over 250 times taking up able bodied trekkers and those facing challenges navigating disabilities including wheelchair users and individuals with blindness. Abdallah started working as a porter at the age of 18 years old then rose to a guide then progressed on to being a head guide with some of the biggest Kilimanjaro tour companies.

Proper mountain gear is essential for safety on Kilimanjaro, yet many porters and mountain crew cannot afford high-quality equipment. To address this challenge, we support the Lending Mountain Clothing Program.
Through this program:
Donated mountain clothing and equipment are collected from climbers and organizations
Gear is loaned free of charge to porters and mountain crew
Borrowers leave a small item of value (e.g., phone or bicycle) as a deposit
The program maintains a return rate of over 90% since 2003
All mountain crew members are welcome to access this program, helping ensure safe and dignified working conditions for everyone on the mountain.
